Advisory Appointment • Rukun & Knowledge of Design Advisory Circle
Deaa Bataineh has been appointed to the Advisory Circle of Rukun and the Knowledge of Design (KoD) initiative, joining HRH Princess Noura Saud Naif نورة سعود نايف Al Saud, Brandie Janow, and Dr. Gjoko Muratovski as part of a group guiding the direction of research, programming, and institutional growth.
This advisory role brings together leaders working across design, strategy, and systems to shape conversations at the intersection of education, policy, and innovation. The initiative focuses on advancing design as a form of knowledge—one that informs how institutions generate knowledge, frame challenges, and engage with the future across disciplines and sectors.
Deaa’s contribution builds on his work in Strategic Choice-Making©, extending design into decision-making at the level of infrastructures, public systems, and institutional strategy. Within this context, the Advisory Circle operates not only as a governance structure, but as a platform for aligning perspectives across geographies and practices—connecting research with application, and ideas with systemic transformation.
This appointment reflects a broader trajectory: design increasingly operating at the level of institutions, agendas, and futures, shaping how organizations navigate complexity and define long-term value.
